Why You Should Vote NO on 98 Next Tuesday

Prop. 98 is a deceptive scheme on the June 3rd ballot that would hurt renters, seniors, our neighborhoods, and our environment.

Landlords are waging a deceptive campaign to pass Prop 98 to increase their profits at all of our expense. They don?t care about eminent domain. They really want to rewrite our state constitution for their own benefit.

    * Prop 98 would hurt renters. It is a scheme by landlords to hike rents with no limitation, unfairly evict tenants and withhold security deposits. Prop 98 would devastate seniors on fixed incomes, families and millions of others.
    * Prop. 98 would hurt homeowners. It takes away vital community protections, like laws that allow communities to control the size and type of developments in their neighborhoods.
    * Prop. 98 would hurt the environment. The landlords wrote loopholes in 98 that undermine laws that protect our land, air, water and coastline.

Join AARP, League of Women Voters of California, National Wildlife Federation, California Professional Firefighters, nearly every single newspaper in the state, and over 300 groups in opposing Prop. 98.

Proposition 99 is the responsible alternative to enact real eminent domain reform.  Prop. 99 will protect ALL homeowners from eminent domain abuse by prohibiting governments from taking family homes to transfer to developers. It is strong protection, without the hidden agendas and adverse consequences of 98.  That?s why 99 is supported by the League of Women Voters of California, the League of California Homeowners, and dozens of others.

Remember to vote No on 98 and Yes on 99 on June 3!

Thank you for all your hard work as we approach the June 3 election. Let us know how we can help you get the message out about No on 98, Yes on 99.

Thanks,

No on 98 / Yes on 99 Team
